Between 1996 and 1997, the utility had become more efficient and it was possible to set several options in a configuration file. The idea of supporting multiple (more than one!) devices was born and that support had been implemented.
Now, it was also possible to specify several synchronzation tasks. Each task was configured in advance to specify one or more directories to include in the synchronization process. The device-pair support was implemented, so a task could be started for different device-pairs.
  • Version 0.10
    Internal release: published in 1996
Some day in 1996, our (not very new) idea of a file synchronization utility was implemented in its first rudimental version. It was a simple command-line tool which was able to compare two directories on different volumes including all files and sub-directories. All files and directories which have been changed, created or deleted were detected, so an automated synchronization was possible after user confirmation.
